 Dave grew up in the Twin-Cities of Minnesota and fell in love with Colorado the first time he visisted. Dave's company offered to transfer him to Colorado in 1998 and he couldn't get here fast enough. He and his wife always dreamed of living in the mountains and decided to make it happen in 2004. Dave joined the fire department a month after moving, after getting an insurance inspection and finding he had two fire stations less than a mile away. Since joining, Dave has attained certifications for Nationally Registered EMT-B with IV, Firefighter 2 in Colorado, and HazMat Operations. Dave has held the positions of EMS Lieutenant and Deputy Chief before becoming Chief in 2009.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Psychology. Dave's career started as a Disaster Services Coordinator with the American Red Cross where he managed disaster relief operations at the local, state and national levels. Dave has worked in Medical and Technology Sales since 1996, and has worked for GE Healthcare as a Cardiology Sales Specialist since 2006.
 Dave's wife Sara owns Rustic Point Home Furnishing and Gifts in Evergreen, and their two kids (Lauren-6 and Tyler-4) love spending time with Dave at the fire station. Dave runs marathons as a hobby, and has completed over 35 to date. He has the goal of running a full 26.2 mile marathon in each of the 50 states, and has checked off 27 states to date.
